UGA offers $1000 scholarships to Greek Americans

Greek Americans can write about their roots and win the cash prize

United Greek Americans, an organization founded with the mission of uniting Hellenic youth from around the United States, has established a scholarship fund for Greek-American students.

Launched for the first time this year, the annual Hellenic Scholarship Fund, will be giving $1,000 in scholarships ($500 for one male winner, $500 for one female winner).

Requirements

The applicants will be required to submit a 2- to 3-page essay on how their Hellenic roots have positively impacted their life’s values and outlook in order to carry the torch for themselves and future generations of proud Greek Americans.  All essays must be submitted by May 10, 2015 and will be reviewed by UGA’s board and the winners will be announced on Memorial Day Weekend.
