Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk announced his resignation yesterday, facilitating Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to call national elections.

Yatsenyuk’s resignation came after two major parties, center-right Udar and far-right Svoboda, withdrew from the governing coalition.

On the contrary, the party of Yulia Timoshenko and the president of the Parliament,  Aleksandr Turchinov , are against the dissolution of government action.

President Petro Poroshenko welcomed the coalition’s collapse, saying it reflects the Ukrainian society’s desire for “a complete reload of state power.”

Moreover, Mr. Turchinov announced the dissolution of the parliamentary group of the Communist Party, which was accused by authorities of supporting the pro-Russian separatists.

“It’s an historic moment. I hope that the Ukrainian parliament will not have again a communist party” said Mr. Turchinov.
