“Enough is enough,” United Nations declared, after the new attack of Israel on UN school in Gaza that sheltered Palestinian asking where civilians should go when Israel warns them to leave their homes.

Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said that “all available evidence” suggested that Israeli artillery had hit a United Nations school in Gaza full of civilians who thought they were in a safe zone.
“”Nothing is more shameful than attacking sleeping children. I condemn this attack in the strongest possible terms. It is outrageous. It is unjustifiable. And it demands accountability and justice…I call on the parties to stop the fighting and agree on an immediate, unconditional ceasefire,” the secretary general told reporters in San Jose, Costa Rica, according to a transcript provided by his office.

United Nations deputy secretary general, Jan Eliasson highlighted that there is no safe place left for 1.8 million residents of Gaza Strip, amid the conflict between Israeli army and Hamas during which more than 1,200 Palestinians were killed.

“This is a moment where you really have to say ‘enough is enough,’ and you have to search for the right words to convince those who have the power to stop this,” Jan Eliasson, stressed at the Geneva Convention, which in laying out the rules of war unequivocally prohibits attacks on schools and hospitals.

Israelis still claim that they warn civilians of the impending attacks by phoning at their homes, sending SMS, throwing flyers or even firing fake missiles on rooftops. But Eliasson wondered: “Where can they go? There are only few places left for them in Gaza Strip.”
