A party at “Island” club, hosted by Vangelis Marinakis and the elite of Greek shipping magnates, and international agencies that attended this year’s “Poseidonia” convention, became the “talk of the town”.

Amongst the important personalities who attended the party were representatives of both the political and the business world, media, and showbiz. The tasteful, Greek hors-d’oeuvres and food offered to guests acquired the best of comments, and were accompanied by a magical musical journey with songs from Greece, but also a big surprise from abroad.

The surprise turned out to be internationally renowned diva, Gloria Gaynor, who sang the world-famous songs to which generations grew up listening. Her “flagship” song was, of course, “I will survive”, making everyone sway to the rhythm and hum the words. From the domestic scene, famous singer Antonis Remos and Cretan legend Manolis Kontaros gave the night a fragrance of Greece and the Greek island of Crete, respectively.

The party went on until the early morning hours, and a new rendezvous was given the next gala, in 2016.
