Venizelos to Spanish El Pais: We don’t need Troika anymore

Deputy Prime Minister stated to the Spanish newspaper that “We have the opportunity to turn page” and that “Greece has a greater primarily surplus than Singapore”

In his interview to the Spanish newspaper El Pais the Minister of Foreign Affairs spoke of Greece’s impressive surplus which is better than Singapore’s.

Mr. Venizelos stressed that: that: “We have the opportunity to turn page” and  that “Greece has a greater primarily surplus than Singapore”.

At the same time he highlighted that: “Greece does not need Troika anymore. We have the opportunity to turn page and to start making our way out of crisis and memorandum” However he added that: “Prime factor for a real change is political stability”.

Further Mr. Venizelos insists that “Our main target is to avoid any conversation of a new program, since in an economic and financial way we are able to move on without it. The debt servicing obligation is completely acceptable, less than half than before crisis”.

Among other, the Minister also commented on PASOK’s subsidence and on SYRIZA, while he concluded by referring to the anger of people, which he sincerely understands, but they must understand as well, that there is plan B, and used Cyprus as an example where the Parliament rejected the first program, but the second one was much harder.
