Back in the Eighties, the Greek people wanted a change, and they looked to socialist PASOK party to bring it. Footage was filmed at a PASOK electoral center as Greek flags waved over passing cars and a spirit of euphoria was felt throughout.

Back in 1981, PASOK had won a landslide victory over the conservative New Democracy party making Andreas Papandreou Greece’s first socialist prime minister. The slogan back then was “Allagi” (meaning “change”).

Footage from this video is from the elections of June 2, 1985. Papandreou won his second term with 45.82%, receiving 161 seats from 300.
