WHO to meet on the Ebola issue, tomorrow

The Committee will be meeting for the third time since August.

The extend of the Ebola epidemic and whether or not extra measures must be taken will be studied tomorrow by a meeting of an Emergency Committee of the WHO.

“This is the third time that the meeting will be held, since August. A lot has happened, there have been cases in Spain and the US, while Senegal and Nigeria have been removed from the Ebola-ridden countries list.

The 20 independent experts who judged, on August 8th, that public health should be in a state of emergency due to the West African Ebola epidemic might suggest travel and trade destinations.

The Committee has already recommended that passengers leaving Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone be checked for the Ebola virus.
