World Bank: A Grexit would endanger the world economy

The Indian economist and academic warned about the negative impact of such a scenario

Kaushik Basu, the Senior Vice-President and Chief Economist of the World Bank warned that if the Grexit scenarios come true, the world economy will be in great danger.

In an interview with German newspaper Handelsblatt, the Indian economist and academic noted the following, with regard to the possibility of Greece leaving the eurozone: “Such a development would be unthinkable. In Europe, things are relatively calm now. Growth is anemic but nevertheless starting to pick up. So far so good. However, if Greece leaves the eurozone, this would put the world economy in great danger.”
