273 new refugees and migrants land on Greek islands

Islands’ infrastructures under immense pressure

A total 273 migrants and refugees have landed on the Greek islands in the northern Aegean over the past four days, according to data released by North Aegean regional Police. 111 have landed on the island of Lesvos, 158 on Samos and 4 on Chios since Friday. According to the official figures, an aggregate number of 11,372 refugees and migrants in line for asylum applications are currently hosted on the three islands. The flows of refugees and migrants to the Greek islands in the north Aegean have been on the rise, and the local reception infrastructure put feeling the strain.
