3.4 earthquake hits off Lesvos island

The tremor was in Mytilene

A magnitude 3.4 earthquake on the Richter scale was felt in the capital of Lesvos, Mytilene a few minutes before noon on Wednesday (13:53), 21 kilometres southwest of the city.

The tremor struck in front of the entrance to the Geras bay of the town, according to the Geodynamic Institute.

The seismic activity had a focal depth of 16.2 km and was particularly felt in the city of Mytilene, without, however, reports of damage.
