Arber Bako did not resist arrest, Police sources say.

Arber Bako, the 31-year-old Albanian who opened fire at a Piraeus nightclub at Mikrolimano early on Saturday, injuring 15 people, was arrested today, at around 12:30 pm in an apartment located on Agias Lavras street in the area of Goudi. Later in the evening the arrested claimed that he was too drunk to remember what happened on the night.

According to information, the Hellenic Police operation for the arrest of the dangerous criminal was carefully planned and even involved the use of a helicopter.

Men of EKAM, the Special counter-terrorism unit of the Hellenic Police, threw a flash grenade into the apartment in order to disorient the dangerous criminal’s senses and then went on to arrest him, giving him no time to react, police sources told protothema.gr.

At the time of the arrest, Bako was in the apartment with another person who has not yet been identified.

The dangerous gunman is currently held at the building of the General Police Directorate of Attica, located on Alexandra Avenue.

A search is currently underway to find two other Albanian nationals who were allegedly sheltering Bako.
