Barbaros continues to provoke enmity between Greece, Cyprus, and Turkey

Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz makes provocative statements

Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz argued that the work of “Barbaros” in the eastern Mediterranean is for the benefit of all of Cyprus, “either hydrocarbons are found in the north, or the south, if the EEZ is recognized, or not”.

“That’s why our seismographic vessel Barbaros continues this work in its own domain. This is work done for the whole of Cyprus”, said the Turkish minister.

He said that for this reason, they “see it as positive action which supports political stability and strengthens it. We do not find it appropriate to turn this into a crisis”, he added.

Meanwhile, Dervis Eroglu, Turkish Cypriot leader was sent a congratulatory message by the Turkish political leadership for the 31st anniversary of the proclamation of the pseudostate.
