Bidding for TV broadcast licenses to be held August 30

Procedure to take place behind closed doors

The four TV broadcast licenses will be auctioned off on August 30 at the building of the General Secretariat of Information and Communication. The announcement was made by the General Secretariat on Thursday and the procedures will take place behind closed doors and without the use of cell phones inside the room. The announcement states the procedure will be a simple bidding contest between the nine companies still in the running for the licenses. All representatives of the nine companies will be compelled to hand in their cell phones before entering the bidding room, while the announcement makes it clear that once the tender starts no contacts with the outside are allowed.
