COSCO facilities are now operating as normal

After the termination of the labour mobilization that started on Friday

COSCO employees’ labour action was terminated on Saturday and the COSCO facilities in Piraeus port are now operating as normal.

According to information, the Chinese company agreed to satisfy some of the workers’ demands.

Negotiations will continue while the company examines the rest of the demands.

The mobilisation started on Friday when the workers blocked off access to the cargo handling facilities, protesting for bad working conditions.

The employee demand list includes signing a collective labor agreement, having their profession recognized as hazardous, benefit and pay increases, abolishing 16-hour shifts and health and safety issues.
