ELSTAT: Income and property taxes up in the second quarter of 2014

ELSTAT said that civil servants’ salaries decreased further in the April-June period

According to report released by the Hellenic Statistical Authority on Friday, income and property taxes rose by 984 million euros in the Q2 of 2014, reaching 4.79 billion euros from 3.806 billion euros in the Q1 and 4.33 billion euros in the Q2 of 2013.

ELSTAT said that civil servants’ salaries decreased further in the April-June period, with payroll spending reaching 5.158 billion euros, from 5.208 billion euros in the Q1 and 5.616 billion euros in the corresponding period last year.

According to the same data, state spending on social benefits reached 9.483 billion euros at the end of June, from 9.215 billion euros in Q1 and 9.678 billion euros in the same period in 2013.
