Gov’t plans to impose special contribution up to 10% to cover fiscal gap

It also thinks of brinking back the retroactive taxation of 2015

The Greek government is planning to impose new special contributions in order to address the fiscal gap in 2016.

According to information, the new special contribution up to 10% is already discussed and is included in the Greek proposal.

But, since this measure is not sufficient so as to cover the gap, the government thinks of reestablishing the retroactive taxation of 2015, despite Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos has denied it. The aim is to collect not only 290 million euro, as it was initially planned, but to collect 550 million euros in order to cover the fiscal gap.
