Greek champ arrested for hacking young women’s accounts

The hacker who posed as a university student to steal information from young women’s accounts was arrested

A 28-year-old track and field champion was arrested by the Electronics Crime Squad of Greece after setting up a fake profile and befriending unsuspecting young women, mainly young university undergraduates. He posed as an undergraduate from the University of Piraeus on a study program that required him to test an antivirus program that the women installed leaving him free to hack their accounts and steal personal photographs.

The police found 116 cases of hacking from May 2014 to october 2014.

The young man was arrested on Wednesday and three hard drives a number of other computer items were confiscated.
