Here’s one sure way to forget the recession and whatever debt / euro crisis!

According to a recently unveiled study by Durex, the condom maker, on the subject of sexual well-being, Greeks have the most … sex in the world weekly — 164 times on average a year. As for Greeks themselves, 51 percent responded that they are sexually satisfied.

On a list of the most sexually satisfied nations, Greece comes in fifth, behind…Switzerland (!), Spain, Italy and Brazil.

The supposedly amorous French and the sex-crazed United States are nowhere to be found on the Top Ten.

According to the study, the reason modern Greeks are so sexually satisfied is that they are less uptight about discussing their sexual desires.

All things erotic, of course, were an integral part art and letters in the same land during antiquity, the basis for the subsequent Greco-Roman civilization and a pillar of the western world two millennia later. The study notes that “… Even today, Greeks commonly discuss sex at work, with friends, and most importantly, with their partners. Communication makes for a better sex life, period. Of course, the great weather, beautiful islands and healthy diet can’t hurt.”
