Humans killed Three Million whales throughout 20th century

A mass extermination event took place right in front of us

Shocking findings by a research conducted in the New Bedford Whaling Museum of Massachusetts  point to the fact that humans killed approximately three million whales in the 20th century.

The rate of extermination shows that between 1960-1992, the same number of whales were killed as those hunted in the 18th and 19th centuries, combined.

According to the research, throughout the 20th century 277 thousand whales were killed in the Northern Atlantic, 564 thousand in the Northern Pacific and two million in seas of the Southern Hemisphere.
