Indian girls aged two and five raped in New Delhi

Police reported that they have launched a manhunt for the suspects, but so far no one has been arrested

A two-and-a-half-year-old and a five-year-old girl were raped in separate attacks in New Delhi on Friday night according to the police.

The two-and-a-half-year-old girl was abducted from a religious event in Delhi by two men on Friday night and raped before being dumped in a park near her home, relatives and police said.

Police found the toddler bleeding profusely several hours after she went missing and that tests showed she had been raped at least once.

On the other side of the city, the five-year-old girl was lured to a neighbour’s house and raped by three men.

“Her clothes were partially torn with blood spots all over them. Some locals saw her and she told them she was sexually assaulted,” an officer said.

Police reported that they have launched a manhunt for the suspects, but so far no one has been arrested.

These attacks come a week after a four-year-old girl was raped and slashed with a knife before being dumped by a railway track in the capital, while activists warn of an “epidemic” of sexual violence.
