Juncker on Greece: I prefer known faces into power, instead of extreme forces

He said that he would like Greece to be ruled by people who understand the necessity of European processes.

According to a Euobserver article, EU commission chief Jean-Claude Juncker addressed a warning to the Greek people during an Austrian TV debate, urging them to refrain from voting extreme powers.

Mr. Juncker expressed his personal preference for “known faces” into power, in a statement that can be interpreted as an attempt to influence Greece’s politics.

Moreover, the EU commission chief said that, according to his opinion, the Greeks, who have a very difficult life, “know very well what a wrong election result would mean for Greece and the eurozone,” adding that he wouldn’t like to see extreme forces come to power.

Asked by a journalist whether he considers Syriza an “extreme force”, Mr. Juncker replied that he would like Greece to be ruled by people who understand the needs of the many little people in Greece and also understand the necessity of European processes.
