Greek Defense Minister Panos Kammenos has sued cartoonist Andreas Petroulakis and centrist Potami Leader Stavros Theodorakis, demanding a million euros each
for slander.

Kammenos, the leader and founder of the junior coalition party, the rightist-populist Independent Greeks (AN.EL), claims he was slandered by the two on the news site Protagon.

Nevertheless, the noted cartoonist on Friday emphasised that Theodorakis no longer has a relation with Protagon, as he transfered his shares.

The post that Kammenos took offence to was published on March 17, entitled “P. Kammenos. They’ve begun to resemble him.” The article touches on Kammenos’ nationalist rightist tendencies and detailed certain … issues that the right-wing anti-austerity Independent Greeks (ANEL) leader has shown a keen interest in, such as his probe into whether airplanes’ midair emission trails are actually other types of “sprayed chemicals”.

The article says that the SYRIZA party’s decision to form a coalition government with ANEL as a junior partner is affecting SYRIZA deputies, causing them to begin to … resemble Kammenos.
