Norman Atlantic: The second dead Greek was identified

Yesterday, protothema.gr had contacted his daughter

The second dead Greek among the victims of the Norman Atlantic sea tragedy was identified. The name of the unfortunate man was Constantine Koufopoulos from Meliki village in Imathia and his date of birth was 21.2.1957.

The corpse of the man was found in the sea, according to the information released by Italian authorities.

Yesterday, protothema.gr had contacted his daughter, who was extremely anxious about her father.

“My brother and my mother talked over the phone with an acquaintance of my dad who was with him aboard the ship. He told us that before the outbreak of the fire they were eating and drinking beer together. Then, they both went into their cabins to sleep. After the fire broke out he never saw him again. But he said that he might have missed him in the commotion,” the victim’s daughter said.

“Also at 4:00 am yesterday, a colleague of my dad, who was with him aboard the ship, sent an sms to his boss. But we have been unable to reach him for the last 24 hours. However, I am sure that I heard my dad’s voice in a live broadcast from the ship saying “tell them that we will be burnt alive.” We are extremely worried, we don’t know anything yet. We are searching the lists for his name” the young woman added.
