Renzi: Europe must be reconstructed

Greek issue must be addressed definitively, says Italian PM

In light of all the dramatic developments following the Greek referendum and the position EU leaders will take on the Greek people’s verdict, Italian PM Matteo Renzi posted a message on his Facebook page calling for a shift to principles and values in politics, while stressing that it’s imperative to leave bureaucracy and regulations aside and focus on matters that count.

“There are two issues that that must be dealt with immediately in the European capitals and Brussels”, he said. “The first one concerns Greece, a country in a difficult economic and social state”. He underlined that tomorrow’s talks must conclude in a definitive way on a solution to the problem. The second issue, and most important one, as he claimed was on the future of Europe, something more complex, which “…could not be delayed any longer”. “It is the reconstruction of Europe”, Renzi wrote.
