17 US states made a Lawsuit against President Obama for changes in immigration policy

They argue that his decision was unconstitutional

In response to the recently announced changes in immigration policy 17 US states made a Lawsuit against President Obama.

According to their reasoning, the US President exceeded his powers by his decision.

The submission of the lawsuit was announced by the General Attorney  of Texas Greg Abbott, after the statements of several Republican parliamentarians that was illegal and unconstitutional by the US president to rewrite the law without the congressional approval.

Apart from Texas representatives of Alabama Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, the Misissipi, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, West Virginia and Wisconsin also signed the lawsuit.

The courts, however, have repeatedly decided that immigration is a federal and not a state issue.
