2 billion euros in debts owed to Greek state power utility

Greece’s political and economic slide in 2015 also affects state-run power utility

Debts towards the state-run but bourse-listed Public Power Corp. (PPC) exceed two billion euros during the seven-month period ending in July, the head of the workers’ union (GENOP-PPC) announced on Monday.
Unionist Giorgos Adamidis claimed that industrial-scale users owe 280 million euros, while another 220 million euros are owed by the … state, including 110 million euros in arrears accumulated by local government entities, such as municipalities etc.
The largest portion of debts, however, are retail and residential consumers, with unpaid bills totaling 1.5 billion euros.
