30-60% people believe they see their dead loved ones, study shows

They are completely sane, according to research

Researchers from the Health Sciences Department at the Milan University say that between 30 and 60 per cent of people who have lost loved ones have hallucinatory experiences of the deceased. According to the research, supervised by the head of the department, Professor Armado d’Agostino, both men and women without any prior history of psychological issues who have lost their husbands, wives or other close family members are under the impression that they either ‘see’ or ‘hear’ those passed away. The study, which was published in the ‘Journal of Affective Disorders’ stressed that these people avoid talking about their hallucinatory experience for fear of being dubbed ‘crazy’. The researchers says these experiences are similar to people with symptoms of post traumatic disorders.
