German Chancellor Angela Merkel sent a message ahead of the Greek elections on January 25 to Greek political parties and voters.
She expressed the belief that the Greeks will vote responsibly and stated that Greeks would continue to receive help only if reforms continued. She added that all efforts made by the EU were focused on Greece remaining in the euro, while she further stressed the fact that Greece has always succeeded the objectives of the programs.
Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that later in the week the ECB is expected to announce that it will proceed with the purchase of government bonds of eurozone members by printing new money in an effort to fight deflation and help to stimulate growth.
