Arrested terrorist Nikos Maziotis was transferred to Evangelismos hospital after suffering a severe injury to his right shoulder, during his arrest at the centre of Athens on Wednesday noon.

According to the doctors treating him, the right brachial artery was punctured and this has led to heavy blood loss.

In such cases, according to doctors, immediate surgery is required. The operation is considered very serious, since the wound is critical and the patient may even lose his hand.

It remains unknown whether Maziotis has been admitted to surgery or if he is still in the emergency room with doctors trying to stabilize his condition.
