Anarchists posted a video online of their attack against drug dealers in downtown Athens. The “operation”, as the anarchist group calls it, took place on May 26 last year in the district of Exarcheia, but was just posted to an anarchist site. The video, which shows a number of people chasing and assaulting what the description labels as “drug dealers”, is accompanied by a description explaining the attack.
“Over the past few months, Exarcheia has been in a state of active mobilisation against drug mafias and their state patrons. In spite of the blows against drug trafficking, there have been attempts by them in recent times to re-establish various areas either in Exarcheia Square or surrounding streets, which are also places that youth frequent”, wrote the explanation before going on to describe their attack.
