Basketball player Vassilis Spanoulis, member of the Greek national team, announced his retirement from the national team after the end of the match between Greece-Latvia for the Eurobasket 2015.

“A circle has closed for me. The time has come to retire from the national team. I have experienced huge moments and brought three medals to the country. There were times we succeeded and times we did not. I have been playing for national teams since the age of 17. I believe that this is the right time to stop and other kids to play for us. I am deeply moved,” he stated.
