Taverna Kyclades in the Astoria district of Queens, reportedly considered one of the top Greek restaurants in New York City, has been getting its fair share of media attention lately by attracting show biz types, a guaranteed way of graduating to the “uber trendy” scale for Big Apple restaurants.
Bill Murray apparently enjoys traditional Greek cuisine as he has visited the Taverna Kyclades several times, bringing with him some of his most famous pals, like George Clooney and director Sophia Coppola.
The 53-year-old Clooney and 64-year-old Murray dined at the inexpensive — by NYC standards — taverna last Tuesday and the owners shared their photo proof on their Facebook page, writing: ‘Bill Murray loved us so much he brought a friend.’
Jodie Foster is also a fan of the family-run Greek eatery where appetizers start at just $5. She visited the restaurant on Feb. 6 to savor some of the delicious dishes offered, including the grilled octopus, which Eater New York recently included on its “24 Iconic New York City Dishes” list.
