The latest couple of polls of German public sentiment bode ill for support towards Greece, or to be more precise, the new radical leftist government that assumed the recession-battered country’s reins in late January.
A Bloomberg dispatch from Germany, entitled “Germans Tired of Greek Demands Want Country to Exit Euro”, cites a poll whose results were released on March 13, whereby some 52 percent of respondents no longer wanted Greece to remain in the euro zone. That figure was up from 41 percent during a similar poll last month.
Moreover, another poll result shows that 80 percent of German respondents believe the Greece’s government “isn’t behaving seriously toward its European partners.”
The March 13 poll was broadcast and commissioned by the German national broadcaster ZDF.
