Frank Maloney, the former boxing promoter who guided Lennox Lewis to the world heavyweight title, revealed in an exclusive interview with Daily Mirror that he is now living as a woman named Kellie and plans undergo a sex change.
Frank has been married twice and has three children, but he hit rock bottom when his marriage collapsed because of his transsexual turmoil.
Kellie, as Frank is now called, said: “It got to a point where I just couldn’t cope any longer. I couldn’t go on and I had to end it. I had always believed that suicide was the coward’s way out but my life was being torn apart.”
She confessed that she has been trapped in the wrong body since childhood and was now receiving corrective treatment. But she admitted that struggling with her identity led her to drinking, depression and drugs.
When she retired two years ago, she decided to proceed to a sex change operation and become what she always wanted… a woman!
Frank is dressed in women’s clothes now, his name is Kelly and has already made the necessary hormone therapy, electrolysis to remove hair and of course is having the necessary counselling sessions for psychological support.
She argues that, if she hasn’t been working in boxing industy, but in art and show industry, it would have been easier to make the sex change operation before her retirement, but as she said she would have received harsh criticism if she had entered the ring wearing women clothes!
