Erdogan: No migrant agreement if EU doesn’t fulfill its pledges

Turkey refuses to go through with the agreement, if EU does not meet its commitments

Turkey will not go through with an agreement to take back refugees if the European Union does not fulfill its pledges, President Tayyip Erdogan said on Thursday, as Reuters reports.

Under the agreement signed between EU and Turkey, Ankara will take back all migrants and refugees who cross the Aegean Sea to enter Greece illegally. In return, Europe will receive thousands of Syrian refugees directly from Turkey and reward the country with money, visa-free travel and progress in its EU membership negotiations.
