“The message of local and regional elections in Greece will bring a wider change across the country,” the president of SYRIZA, Alexis Tsipras, said in the press conference conducted now on internet TV of Italian newspaper “La Repubblica”.

From Milan, president of SYRIZA noted that the candidate for the Attica region, Rena Dourou, and the candidate for Athens Municipality, Gabriel Sakellaridis, have great chances of being elected.

Tsipras stressed that the European common currency is a “tool” and not a “fetish” noting also that after the revelations of the Financial Times we all realized what the truth is: Greek eurozone exit would lead to euro collapse.

Tsipras said that he is in favor of a common currency that will protect all eurozone economies.

The president of SYRIZA also stressed that “measures for economy’s boost should be applied with the same way as the laws for the crisis passed” and added that “it is unthinkable someone to consider the stability agreement as a gospel fiscal agreement”.
