Eurogroup tele-conference underway

After the approval of the Eurogroup, the deal must be ratified by six more national parliaments

Shortly after a Cabinet meeting ended in Athens on Monday, a tele-conference between Eurozone FinMins began in Brussels.

The Eurogroup tele-conference will focus on a list of reforms presented by the Greek government to its eurozone creditors, as per an agreement achieved on Friday.

Jeroen Dijsselbloem, in earlier statements, confirmed that the EC received the Greek government’s proposals late last night, underlining that it is not a “memorandum”.

According to the Eurogroup head, Athens is serious on reforms, but has a “different vision”, and thus a deal will have to be altered.

After the approval by the Eurogroup, the deal must be ratified by six more national Parliaments besides Greece’s, namely, the relevant legislatures in Germany, Malta, Estonia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Finland.
