European Commission spokesman Margaritis Schinas confirmed on Monday that European Commission president Jean Claude Juncker spoke on the phone with Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Sunday focusing on the preparation of the Eurogroup meeting as well as the refugees issue.

Regarding the deliberations between the Greek authorities and the institutions during the weekend, Mr. Schinas said that progress was made and that the discussions continue at political and technical level in order to reach an agreement in all sectors.

He also stressed that today’s Eurogroup will evaluate the progress regarding the implementation of the reforms in Greece.
