Google raises money to help refugees

Google will match the first $5.5 million worth of donations globally until a total of $11 million is raised

Google has announced a donation-matching campaign that aims to raise $11 million for humanitarian organizations aiding the thousands of migrants and refugees that have overwhelmed European nations as they flee war-torn and impoverished countries.

The donation will also only be matched if it’s made to one of the four partners Google has teamed up with: Doctors Without Borders (Medecins Sans Frontieres in Ireland), International Rescue Committee, Save The Children, and UNHCR.

Google said it will match the first $5.5 million worth of donations globally at google.com/refugeerelief, until a total of $11 million is raised.
