Government spokesperson Olga Gerovasili denied rumours that the elections would be held any time soon, adding that talks of elections was not beneficial. In a written statement Gerovasili said the government’s priority was to complete a deal with EU institutions and to implements the July 12 EU-19 Summit agreement. Gerovasili underlined that the Greek government’s initiatives focused on stabilizing the economy in the short-term and restore a sense of calmness in order to promote the necessary reforms in the political system and the operation of the state.
