The initiative Refugees Welcome started in November 2014 from Berlin aiming to create a new culture of welcome.

Since then, other countries have also participated in the program from Austria, to Spain and Portugal and now Greece.

This initiative has also been characterized as “Airbnb for refugees” and aims to help refugees to stay together with locals who are willing to share their extra room.
