Famous Greek actor Andreas Barkoulis died at the age of 80, Tuesday. The actor has been hospitalised at the Agia Olga hospital where he was being treated for infection of the respiratory system and heart failure. His wife, Mary Barkouli and son Nikos were with him until his last moment. Barkoulis was one of the leading men in Greek cinema in throughout the 60s and 70s. He was born on August 4, 1936 and made his first appearance in the theatre in 1956. Barkoulis appeared in over 100 movies, while he co-stared along some of the great female actresses of Greek cinema like Aliki Vougouklaki and Jenny Karezi. His funeral will take place on Thursday, August 25 at the Metamorphosis Cemetery at 5.30pm.
