Newsroom August 11 11:08

German Chancellor Angela Merkel expressed her reservations to Greek PM Alexis Tsipras in a phone conversation, Tuesday about the success of the deal struck between Greece and the creditors. Sources say she unequivocally stated she was not aware of the details of the new deal and recommended the possibility of new interim ‘bridge-loan’ not be taken off the table. On his part, the Greek PM assured Merkel that a deal had been reached with the institutions and the schedule could not change. According to sources in the Greek government German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schauble is playing ‘harder’, while Merkel is trying to find the middle grounds. The Greek side expressed concern about how far Schauble is willing to go and whether he is actually capable of blocking the agreement.
