Supporters of the ‘No’ campaign started to celebrate – with passion and gusto – in Athens as the early count showed a decided victory for anti-austerity. Yelling out anti-opposition slogans and dancing and singing for their victory as tourists looked on in wonderment, as ‘no’ supporters gathered in droves at Syntagma and Klafthmonos squares.

From early in the morning, microphone installations and giant screens were placed everywhere.
Estimations show that young people voted for the ‘no’ side at a ratio of 2:1, and this can be seen at the vibrant celebrations.
