French president Francois Hollande has confirmed at a press conference that flight MS804 crashed while flying in Egyptian airspace over the Mediterranean.

According to The Telegraph, in a TV press conference, he said: “We must ensure that we know everything on the causes of what happened. No hypothesis is ruled out or favoured,”.

Earlier, Egypt’s foreign ministry exchanged condolences with France over what it called the “fall” of an EgyptAir flight carrying 66 people from Paris to Cairo. This statement was the first official admission that the passengers of the plane were likely to have died.
