IMF Director Christine Lagarde said the Greek debt was unsustainable at the current levels, during a speech in Vienna, Friday. Lagarde stressed that the Fund’s goal was for Greece to return to financial stability so that it eventually fund its own loans. She reiterated the IMF’s position regarding the conditions under which the organisation would continue to participate in the Greek program, pointing out that the main condition was that the country’s debt was viable.
