Inmate Nikos Romanos, currently at Gennimatas Hospital on a hunger strike to protest the rejection of his request for an education furlough to attend studies at the Technical Education Institute of Athens, wrote a note showing his disagreement with his parents’ request to meet with Prime Minister Antonis Samaras on Monday:
I state on all levels that the request by my parents to meet (Greek Prime Minister Antonis) Samaras is something that I vehemently oppose. Of course I understand their agony as they are in danger of losing their child. However, Samaras is fully aware of the events and no meeting to defuse the situation is necessary so that he can be informed of something he is already aware of and endorses.
