Italian company buys Greek railways TrainOSE for 45m Euros

The Hellenic Republic Asset Fund (TAIPED) has accepted the 45m Euro bid by Italian company Ferrovie Dello Stato Italiane for the buyout of Greek railway company TrainOSE. According to information by Protothema.gr, TAIPED is expected to release an official announcement of the deal within the next hours. The call to tender for the privatisation of TrainOSE ended on July 6, where the Italian company had made a binding offer, in contrast to Russian RZD which did not make a binding offer for the buyout of the Greek railway company. The next stage will proceed in accordance to the terms of the call to tender presented on January 27.
