Gems trader arrested for 20-mln-euros in debts to state

63 year old entrepreneur from Ioannina owed to the Greek state the amount of 20.623.924.26 million euro

A 63-year-old precious gems dealer was arrested on Wednesday outside the northwestern city of Ioannina for outstanding debts to the state worth more than 20 million euros.

According to police, the merchant was arrested for the continuing non-payment of state debts.

Following his arrest, the suspect was led before an Ioannina prosecutor.
