Mother and daughter jailed for getting married!

Mom and daughter had not met for many years

Newsroom September 15 02:56

A 43 year-old woman and her 25-year old daughter were put in prison in Oklahoma, after it was discovered they had married each other! The US Department of Human Services (DHS) informed the local police department of in Duncan that the two were involved in an incestuous relationship last year. The authorities visited the house of Particia Spann for a child welfare investigation and found the woman living with three of her children , who had been previously taken from her custody and adopted by their parental grandmother. The woman reportedly had no contact with her children for year, but when she met her daughter Misty, now 25, they ‘hit it off’, as Spann told the DHS. The Duncan Banner confirmed that the two tied the knot in Comanche County on March 25. Spann had previously been “married” to her son Jody, but he annulled the relationship, citing incest. Spann had said that she wed her son to help him avoid being deployed into the military. Under Oklahoma law, marrying one’s relative is considered felony incest whether or not a sexual relationship exists. Therefore, a warrant was issued for the arrest of both Patricia Spann and Misty Spann, and they were booked in the Stephens County Jail.
